The studio.
The studio is a ground-level space with its own external entrance.
It is part of a home setting and separate from the main living area. Household activity may be present outside the studio at times.
The room is set up for creative work. Air conditioning is used for temperature control, with a fan on warmer days.

Sensory environment.
The studio uses adjustable lighting and does not use fluorescent lights.
Strong scents are avoided. Incense and scented candles are not used.
The space is usually quiet, though some background household or neighbourhood noise may be heard.
A dog lives on the property but is not present in the studio during sessions.
Sensory sensitivities can be shared ahead of time if relevant.
Simple sensory items, such as fidgets or weighted supports, may be available as optional tools

Physical access.
The studio is at ground level with no stairs.
Entry is via a flat concrete path from the street, with no steps from the gate to the studio door.
The studio has a dedicated external entrance that is clearly signed and visible from the gate.
The path is direct and kept clear.
Mobility needs or access questions can be discussed in advance.

Parking and location.
Street parking is available near the studio.
The driveway is not available for general parking. Driveway parking may be arranged by prior agreement if needed for access reasons.
Before appointments, a sandwich board sign is placed in the driveway to assist with wayfinding.
The studio entrance is clearly signposted and visible from the gate.
An A-frame sign will be placed outside the In the Making studio to support wayfinding.
Arrival and departure.
On arrival, ring the doorbell at the gate rather than knocking on the studio door. I will come to meet you.
There is no indoor waiting area. Arriving more than five minutes early is not recommended.
Sessions end at their scheduled time. If you arrive late, the session is shortened rather than extended.
I will walk with you to the gate when it’s time to leave.
Materials used in sessions.
A range of creative materials is available in the studio. This includes art supplies, tools, and sensory or hands-on items.
Most materials are water-based and non-toxic. Sharp or powered tools are not freely accessible and are used only with supervision.
Aerosol sprays, solvent-based products, and strong fumes are not used.
A range of materials are available during sessions, including pencils, paint, tools and more!
Bathroom.
A bathroom is located next to the studio. It can be used during sessions if needed.
Access or privacy needs can be discussed in advance.
For parents and guardians.
For clients under 18, safety boundaries apply. This includes more restricted use of tools and defined arrival and departure arrangements.
Parents or guardians may raise practical or access questions in advance.
